“Perfection!”

We held the wedding reception of my son at the Boarshead on 11-17-16.
Barry Jr went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect! The decorations were lovely, the service was super and the food was fabulous.
I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant.

We have eaten here many times over the years, (it opened in 1978) but it has been a few since our last visit. Decided to meet some friends here since they had not been before and they were staying close by.

We started with a very good order of crab fingers and several other items. Several of us had various cuts of prime rib which is always cooked very well and some of the best on the beach. Pepper seared tuna was also done to perfection. One person, who is a filet snob, said that their’s was very good. All dinners include a salad choice and some type of vege, including several types of potatoes. They do offer some early bird specials and their happy hour is from 4:30-6:00PM.

Drinks were kept full and our server was very good about checking on us. We did decide to be seated in the bar area this time so several bar specials were purchased.

Yes this place is showing its age and has not changed much over the years, but that is some of its charm. One of our friends said that it is like a night club that you would not want to see in bright lighting. It is always dark in this place if you have not visited before. (Older folks-be sure to take a flash light to read your menu.)

It is a little out of the way on the west end of front beach road (one mile west of Pier Park) and sets back a ways from the road but plenty of parking. This time it was a little slow during our mid-week visit in October but that allowed us to visit with our friends a lot and we even closed the place down.

It is not a fancy chain, we do not need more fancy chains, but an old original casual restaurant & tavern that wants to hug you and take care of you like an old aunt or uncle would. My cousins visited PCB a few weeks before and went there twice (the second time for carry out and take back to their condo). So be sure to give this place a try, and do not drive on by.
